ART IS THE PROPER TASK OF LIFE

TRUTH... I 'm  just saying.  I mean what kind of world would we live in without it?  I was thrilled to see that the challenge at Inspiration Avenue this week was "TINY ART". It is what it is, but you probably know it by the more common name of ACEO's or ATC's. Both are tiny works of art, any medium on a 2.5" x 3.5" card. These cards are generally signed by the artist and sold or traded.  I love making these cards and collecting them. Recently I was involved in a Deck Swap. These particular cards were quote cards and were  made from playing cards which are the same measurements for ACEO cards. I am now having fun  making little card books filled with these little works of art.

The sky is the limit when making ACEO or ATC cards. Check out Inspiration Avenue to see more these little awesome works of ART.
BEWARE... this is very addictive! :)

  1. hiya sweetie,
thought I'd drop you a really quick note and mention that Featuring magazine has a call out for mail art, we're doing an article for the next issue. I thought of you for a great participant. There's no guarantees of inclusion, you just send in your mail art to the mag but it's worth a try, right?? Just go to featuringmagazine.com and there's a link in the sidebar.
    Hugs,
    Jenn
PS. the art you showed above is gorgeous

  3. These really are addictive! Do tell more about the little card books. I have these all over the place that I have made or traded. Some are hanging with my tags from swaps, and others are in a vintage tin, the exact size to fit. Perhaps I will photo them and put them up on my blog to share! I love ATC's....miniature works of art. You can't beat that!

    1. When I get them completed, I will happily share. You can just punch a hole in the top corner of each card or do two holes on one end, just depending on your cards and the type of book you are making to put them in. Many people who collect them, do not like to punch holes in them, so if that is an issue, you can buy the photo album books that hold 4x6 photos and slide each card in the individual slips. Many of these have writing spots under or next to the photo slip and that's a great place to write the name of the artist etc. I have books like this and the ones that I punch holes in and make myself are generally my cards or cards that were made for a swap like the quote cards. I make these little books out of everything! :)
I would love to see your ATC's, Share away~*

  4. Cake? I think I might have missed the cake. Not like me at all lol. I'll have to head over and see if there is any more. Or bake one :)

Such great ATCs Kim! Each one so creative...different yet they all have your "stamp" upon them! How cool that playing cards are the exact size of ATCs...I learned something new today!

    1. Maggie, not all decks are the same size. You would think, but many are. When I find the ones that are, I buy up several decks. :)
Going to take another look at the dates on the tag swap at Inspiration Avenue. I am finishing up my tags tonight.
Have a lovely day.... Kat has me thinking of carrot cake this weekend. :)
