So much has happened this past year and not so much to me, but so much all around me. It is really over whelming to take it all in. I never thought I would be a person lost for words, but so much of this year, words have actually failed me. When I find I am lost for words, there are two things that help me find a place of Peace. The first is Prayer, the other is Art.

I made this CHRISTMAS BOX and more important than the work I put into it, ...  it is filled with feelings, and gratitude,  and prayers of blessings for all those around me... who this year on December 25th, 2013
need a little Christmas.

Thank you for stopping by!

This Box is available for Sale in my Etsy Shop if you would like to learn more about it.

The last journal is wrapped and ready to mail out to Stephanie tomorrow. This has truly been a magical year. Each month a new journal to work in and a new color palette. My pages will complete Stephanie's journal. It has been pretty special to see one fully completed journal and also exciting to know that soon Stephanie will get to see all these beautiful journal pages up close.

Stephanie likes flowers and fairies, so I incorporated those into her pages using my grandmother as my inspiration for the flowers and the fairie. The photo is an actual picture of my grandmother, she loved flowers and pressed them for years into bookmarks.

Since I am the last one to work in Steph's journal, I am not sure how I ended up doing the very first two pages ,LOL.  I actually did do three because there were just three pages left and this would complete the Amazing PURPLE Journal.

This is the  third page and picture of my grandmother. She would be so happy to see  her photo in this journal among all the flowers!

This is a little envelope made from a large book tag folded in half. The little glass charm
on the ribbon has a real pressed flower that has been added to a vintage watch crystal.

I added her picture to the back of this little tag envelope since she is my "Flower Fairie"

The card and tag on the left opens up to this picture below:

Thank you my dear sweet friends for allowing me to dance and play, relax and dream in
all your journals. As each beautiful journal left my hands, the sweet fragrance of your friendship remains!

DRINK WINE?  You still have time to make these cute little Cork Christmas Trees.

All you need is 15 wine corks per tree. That's 30 bottles of wine for two trees. Yikes! You can also just purchase the corks.  The two bottom ones need to be the same height. A glue gun, some acrylic paint, and some little buttons and embellishments. Or you can do what I did and purchased this little craft pocket at Hobby Lobby that had everything you would need inside. Tiny little buttons. I just clipped off the plastic loop on the back side to make them flat for gluing on the cork.

I made both of these in way under less than 45 minutes.  Not counting drinking the wine. :)

You don't have 15 corks? You still have time.... Get popping!

I have been referred to as "One of Those".  LOL  and yes I am "one of those". One of those people who love everything about Christmas. I can barely wait to
to get my tree out and decorations up. It takes everything in me to refrain from doing it until after Thanksgiving. I generally do not put my tree up until the day after Thanksgiving.
However, Thanksgiving is a tad bit late this year so that gave me the go ahead to get the tree out and get it set up. I do also love Thanksgiving and not to slight it, I never decorate until it is over.

Fall is my favorite time of year and I never miss the opportunity to pick up the beautiful gifts of colored leaves that God so graciously gave us with the trees and the change of seasons. This year my daughter and 4 of my grandchildren who live here took a nature walk, each with a bag in hand and picked up leaves. They enjoyed it as much or more than picking up Easter Eggs. That same day, we painted the leaves and let them dry. These would add to our table decorations for Thanksgiving Dinner.

Yesterday I was looking at the bare Christmas Tree and the leaves I pressed and I was thinking of all that I was Thankful for. One hour later, my tree became the "Thankfulness Tree", bearing the pressed leaves I picked up, some of the leaves we painted, and thoughts of what I was thankful for.

Use Gel pens or markers to write on the press leaves
It doesn't have to be a perfect work of art, just write your Thankful thoughts

This one is one of the leaves we painted. Magnolia leaves work really well for painting since they are thicker.

We have a lot of children at our house for Thanksgiving for I am going to let each one
decorate a tag and write what they are thankful for and then place it on the tree. You are also creating memories, so I will date the back of each one and save them.

So yes, I am proud to be "One of Those" and if you are "One of Those", then do whatever
is in your heart and ENJOY your holidays, however you celebrate, to the VERY FULLEST!
